Tips for Manicure at Home

Most of the time we have the chance and time to visit a beauty centre to have a manicure but once in a while we may be rushing and lack of time to do so. Or simply lazy enough to go out. In such times, you can give yourself a manicure at home. Let’s how it works step by step:

Step 1: Wash your hands and clean your nails

It is essential to have utmost care for hygiene so as not to create any health issue or skin disease.Remember that inflammatory infections occur around the nail because of hygiene problems. Cleaning the remains of old nail polish is also a must to proceed.

Step 2: Prepare Water for Manicure

Prepare a water for manicure. Adding vaseline to preferably hot or warm water will be more than enough. Don’t forget that vaseline softens your nails and skin while nourishing the skin of your hands. Shampoo or liquid soap can also be used if there is no vaseline at home. If possible, do not forget to add almond oil to the water because it  fixes your nails.

Step 3: Water your hands

Keep your hands in water for 15-20 minutes. Then take out hands and dry thoroughly.

Step 4: Correct your nails

Scrape the flesh of your fingernails back with a nail file or cotton swabs. Be careful and carry out this step gently. Then, cut the dead parts with a nail clipper .

Step 5: Shape Your Nails

At the end of manicure, shape your nails with either paper and metal files. The paper file is preferable better for fragile nails.

That’s all…

  1. I have to give myself manicures because I have two partially missing nails and I use silk wraps on them. I’m afraid to let a “professional” do it because last time they used a Dremel on my nail bed and burned me to the skin. Yowza!
